The Rookery
On the surface, the name “Rookery” can be quite mystifying. What does a bird nest or breeding ground have to do with golf? Well, when you play on a course featuring natural hazards, bunkers, bulkheaded ponds and a blue heron ‘rookery’ that exists between the fourth and fifth holes, you’ll be guaranteed a sky-high adventure.

The Rookery, a contemporary classic that opened in 2000, is set between swelling mounds to the west and a heron Rookery to the east. 2004 Senior British Open Champion Pete Oakley and course superintendent Chris Adkins designed the flagship course to be challenging but fun for all levels.
The intricate routing features well-conditioned bentgrass greens, tees and fairways that will add to every golfer’s enjoyment. Plan to come early or stay late to enjoy lunch at the Blue Heron Grille, a full service restaurant and friendly bar.
