Rum Pointe is located just off of Route 611 set on the Sinepuxent Bay overlooking Assateague National Seashore. This Scottish-style links opened in 1997 and features bent-grass on the fairways and greens with 17 of the 18 holes having a spectacular bay views with several holes having direct bay frontage.
With holes playing along the bay, the surroundings create a virtual links land-style atmosphere that will create situations of risk and reward that will quicken the heart rate of even the most experienced golfer. For the course to be even friendlier to the average golfers, we recommend that golfers with a higher handicap move up a set of tees or two, especially on those windy days along the coast. This spectacular intricate seaside design was rated four stars in Golf Digest’s Places to Play and named in the “Top 5 in Maryland” in Golfweek’s America’s Best by State.
Arrive early and warm up at Rum Pointe’s fine practice facility, GPS is provided on the golf carts to give an added convenience. If you want to make your experience even more complete, stop by the Rum Pointe Grille either before or after your day and enjoy a delicious meal with a friendly smile.
Because of the Links style of play at Rum Pointe, this course will favor your bump & run game. If it is a windy day, be sure to select the appropriate tees for your skill level, which in our experience would be teeing up one set closer.
